Mobile Library Literacy Services
MLLS Libraries
Mobile Library Literacy Services began with a grant from the California Children and Families Commision in 2000. The California State Library distributed those funds among 11 public libraries throughout the state to purchase a vehicle and behin the program. Those 11 pioneers have since been joined by additional public libraries who have been successful in developing local funding for a mobile literacy program - most in collaboration with their local First 5/Children and Families Commission.
