Library Literacy and Corrections: Best Practices & Current Challenges
Many incarcerated adults are characterized by a lack of functional literacy skills and limited access to services which contribute to their lives of unemployment, poverty, and crime. Library literacy providers who seek out and serve adults in custody have the opportunity to intervene in this cycle and significantly impact this growing segment of our population. A panel of library literacy providers who successfully serve this population will share their diverse approaches and how they meet the challenges of providing those services in a correctional setting.
