National Coalition for Literacy: A national coalition of the leading national and regional organizations dedicated to advancing adult education, family literacy, and English language acquisition in the U.S.
National Council for Adult Learning: A national public charity that conducts research, policy development, issue analysis, and symposia in all areas of Adult Education, including ESOL, health literacy, distance learning, workplace education, and family literacy. The charity’s goals are to foster an environment more sensitive to employer workforce needs in a global economy and to help move low-skilled adults and incumbent workers toward readiness for college, self-sustaining employment, and fuller civic participation.
OTAN (Outreach and Technical Assistance Network): A statewide leadership project funded to support the adult education field in California. OTAN helps adult educators to incorporate technology into instruction.
ProLiteracy: The largest adult literacy and basic education membership organization in the nation. Provides professional development and conference opportunities and information.
VALUE (Voices of Adult Learners United for Education): National nonprofit organization for adult learners, governed and operated by current and former adult learners across the nation.
VolunteerMatch: Connects organizations with qualified volunteers. A special arrangement between the California State Library and Volunteer Match provides California libraries with a premium VolunteerMatch membership.
